Virtual Reconnection Walk – Round Arnside Knott and Eaves Wood – 28th February, 10am

**We have now made this a free online event.**

Come and join us for a fully guided low level walk and support CancerCare. As we emerge from the tumultuous events and our confinement in 2020, we are pleased to host this inclusive, relaxed and healthy COVID-19 secure event . We want to walk and talk together in nature.

Spend the morning in beautiful countryside. You will reconnect with friends, family and colleagues combining exercise in a natural environment and discover or even re-discover stunning views right on our doorstep. Places we have been restricted from visiting or too busy to visit. Away from digital devices with uninterrupted time to physically reconnect, chat, think, discuss and reflect.

This is a fully guided walk. As well as your nominal fee to attend this Reconnection Walk, we would love it if you were able to make an additional donation to CancerCare. We suggest £5 per person.

We start this lowland walk at Arnside Promenade, next to the Pier and 5 minutes walk form the train station. The route follows alongside the Kent Channel at the entrance to Morecambe Bay sands giving us a wonderful view over to South Lakeland. It then meanders around Arnside Knott wood but without climbing the Knott itself , passing the historic Arnside Tower we then walk through National Trust owned Eaves Wood before heading back to Arnside alongside Silverdale Moss.
Your walk leader will manage the group in a professional yet subtle way and be able to make dynamic decisions based on abilities, terrain and the weather.

The start and finish of this event is Arnside Pier, LA5 0HA

About CancerCare

CancerCare has been providing free professional therapy to people dealing with the effects of cancer and bereavement for more than 35 years.

The charity has centres in Lancaster, Kendal and Barrow and offers a wide variety of services including one-to-one counselling, complementary therapy and creative activity groups.

The service is open to family, friends and carers of people with a cancer diagnosis and if someone feels they need support, and meets the criteria, they can refer themselves without first consulting a clinician.

CancerCare has a dedicated service for children and young people with specialist counsellors trained in play therapy. It also runs a weekly peer support group in Lancaster called Re-Fresh which is run by youth workers and acts as a safe space for young people to meet, do activities and have fun with others in similar situations
