English Three Peaks Challenge, Lake District

Climb the three highest mountains in England; Scafell Pike, Helvellyn and Skiddaw, which of course are all in The Lake District! The challenge for you on this Adventure is be on the top of each one within a 24 hour period! Being the three highest in The Lakes makes them the three highest in England!

Whilst there are other ‘tops’ such as Scafell or Broad Crag, Scafell Pike, Helvellyn and Skiddaw are the highest point of each ‘mountain’.

This Challenge involves more than simply going up and down each mountain the same way on the shortest route. You will have transfers to enable ‘point to point’ walks. This means you get to see so much of the entire Lake District National Park– packing loads into a short period!

Your base is in Keswick, in the heart of the northern Lake District. Having arrived the night before, for Leg 1 you will start early in Wasdale on the East side of the main Cumbrian mountain range.

After climbing to the top of Scafell Pike you continue traversing the main Cumbrian mountain range to then drop down into Langdale.

After a deserved ‘rest, refuel and recharge’, you transfer to Leg 2. You start this around teatime for an early evening hike up Skiddaw. Then back to our accommodation for some very well-earned rest!

Up early again you transfer to the start of Leg 3 to take in Helvellyn and some of the Helvellyn range which provide some of the best view across the Lake District (subject to weather of course!).

Hopefully you are able to make to the summit of Helvellyn within 24 hours from when you stood on Scafell Pike summit.

What a phenomenal achievement! Even if you don’t quite manage the time cut-off, you still will have experienced so much of what the Lakes has to offer.

Transfers will be by large minibus taxi (fully licensed) with a maximum of 5 per taxi to adhere to COVID guidelines.

Those of you that would like a more relaxed schedule, this Adventure can be done on a three day guided basis.
